**Red Fridays - Support our Canadian troops by wearing something red every Friday. The idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home. When a soldier is asked "What can we do to make things better for you?" they respond with the need for your support and your prayers. Wear something red every Friday.**

The Pembroke Regional Hospital Board of Directors Seeks Members

Your community hospital is seeking new Board members. Ideal candidates are prepared to make a significant commitment for a period of up to three years, have the knowledge, skill and experience that will enable them to contribute to the hospital, and reflect the diversity of the community we serve.  High school football  is coming back to Pembroke. You can help by supporting the fundraising efforts for the Friends of Fellowes Football fundraising campaign. All funds raised will support the cost of equipment for students who play on the Falcons varsity football team this coming fall. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 72 in Pembroke is hosting Six Handed Euchre Monday evenings starting at 7PM. Everyone is welcome to attend and have an evening of fun!

 

LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS IN RENFREW: The successful Heart Wise Exercise Get WITH It walking program is being launched in Renfrew at St. Joseph's High School, Monday, March 8, 2010 from 6-8 pm. We are looking for volunteers to join our team! Reel Paddling Film Festival.

Fundraising Dance at Shady Nook Recreation Centre.
9PM- 1AM. Money is being raised by local teen Samantha Munro for Volunteer Corps Organization and rural Ghana.



The Pembroke Petawawa Lions Club is holding their Montly Pancake Breakfast from 8Am to 12PM at the Lions Hall, 1163 Victoria St. Petawawa. Cost: Adults $5, children(6-12) $3 and children under 6, free.

St. Patrick's Day @ DACA- 1-7pm. There will be entertainment all day featuring; fiddlers, pianists, duets, and dancing! The Canteen will be open all day and there will be Irish Stew!



You too can learn vital life saving STANDARD FIRST AID and CPR. This 2-day course offers comprehensive techniques along with hands on practice which helps to retain the skills you have learned. The Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans Club in Maynooth is holing a St. Patrick's Party Event. There are 3 live Irish Bands starting at noon. Live music all afternoon and a DJ in the evening. There is free Irish Food. Entrance fee is $10.

5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt! Chutes Coulonge will be open Easter weekend. Between 11 and 4 pm Chutes Coulonge will host special activities for children ages 3-12. "Québec en Forme" will get the kids moving with various games and activities.  A fundraising lunch will be available and an Easter egg hunt.  You must register to participate.  Please call 819-683-2770 leave your name, phone number, and number of children and adults attending. Blurry Edge will be playing Greenfield's Pub & Eatery from 7-11pm for the CMC's (Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers') Choppers for Charity. This year all proceeds go to the MRFD (Motorcycle Ride for Dad) in support of prostate Cancer research. Blurry Edge also has Rust Proof Bottom as special guests so it promises to be a night of great music, dancing and great friend's all together for the opportunity to give a little back in gratitude for the good fortune we enjoy in our lives.

"FAMILY HISTORY FAIR" --The Upper Ottawa Valley Genealogical Group will be hosting Ontario Genealogical Society Region VIII Annual General Meeting and Family History Fair from 9 A..M. to 4 P.M. at The Nick Smith Centre, 77 James St. Arnprior.   The cost of $20.00 includes lunch.  Register before April 1, 2010.  Speakers will include Ron Shannon on Cemetery Restoration, Mary Lynn Benz on Mysterious Burials and Shirley Mask Connolly on Kashubs of Canada.   There will be Genealogical Displays and Marketplace from all over Eastern Ontario.  Make cheque or money order payable to UOVGG, and mail to UOVGG, Box 972, Pembroke, On. The Upper Ottawa Valley Tai Chi Clubis celebrating 20 Years of sharing the enjoyment and health benefits of the ancient art of tai chi with the Valley. On World Tai Chi & Qigong Day, Saturday, April 24th, 2010 FREE demonstrations will be held for the public in Tai Chi, Fan, Sword, Staff and more beginning 10 am at the Rankin Community Centre, Hwy 41 just outside of Pembroke. This Anniversary celebration will be part of a world-wide Tai Chi event with over 65 nations participating. This is the 12th annual World Tai Chi & Qigong Day and the first ever Live internet broadcast of the event.

Victim Services of Renfrew County, Inc. invites you to attend its 1st Annual Chocolate Gala  - a signature event featuring a decadent meal beginning and ending with chocolate and will boast a silent & live auction.
