Hey Valley! I’m Ashley Thomson! I originally hail from Cayuga, Ontario. I grew up along the Grand River and spent summers water skiing, swimming, playing baseball and biking. In the winter it was all about the GT!!!! My dad bought me a karaoke machine that I used to make up radio shows on so I guess I had the bug early on. I had a radio show on a community radio station on C101.5 – Mohawk College Radio when I was in high school before leaving for college. I went to Niagara College and worked at radio stations in St. Catharines and Niagara Falls. I took off for Yellowknife in the NWT to have an adventure and get paid for it! I came to the Upper Ottawa Valley almost three years ago and the time has flown by! I am heavily involved with the Canadian Diabetes Association and have run various Team Diabetes Events around the world. I’ve raised thousands of dollars for the Association running marathons in Rome, Easter Island, two half marathons in Ottawa and a 10K in Ottawa. Where my next run will take me? Well your guess is as good as mine!
